State Development Squads

Athlete Development

How to get involved

WPSA coordinate State Development Squads for both females and males in 14&U, 16&U and 18&U categories. If you think you have what it takes to make a State Team or you want to advance your Water Polo skills please contact our Administration Officer admin@waterpolosa.com.au with your name, date of birth, your Club or School, parent’s email address, parent’s phone number. We will then contact you to arrange a squad session to attend in which our coach will oversee your training. The coach will then make recommendations on the next step.

Squad Communication

All squad communication will be via TeamApp. Athletes and/or parents can sign up now to the App via the following link https://waterpolosa.teamapp.com/ or download the free TeamApp application through your mobile App store and search ‘Water Polo SA’.

It is preferred to only sign up using the athlete’s name only. Both the athlete and parent(s) can sign in on their phone or computer under the one user/login/athlete name. If you do not have access to a smartphone you can access the same information via the TeamApp website https://waterpolosa.teamapp.com/

TeamApp will be the main source of communication to all squads and will provide all the latest information to athletes and parents about:

  • Training dates, times and location
  • News
  • Upcoming events

TeamApp also allows the coach to have immediate access to up-to-date emergency contact information and allows daily attendance to be easily monitored. It is an expectation that all squad athletes do their best to attend all scheduled sessions so athletes progress as a team together. There will be several sessions throughout the term for all squads delivered by the Head Coach targeting skill areas for development.
