Executive Officer

Executive Officer ( 2 year contract – 21 hours per week )

Water Polo South Australia (WPSA) is a State Sporting Organisation and the governing body for water polo in South Australia. WPSA is an incorporated association governed by a voluntary Board; funded by government grants, affiliation and membership fees and other revenue activities.

Current membership comprises 4 affiliated clubs representing over 330 individual members. WPSA is affiliated with Water Polo Australia (WPA).

The Executive Officer reports to the Board, which currently comprises eleven members from a variety of professional backgrounds. The Board supports a dynamic and flexible work environment and remuneration will be negotiated commensurate with level of experience of the successful applicant.

The Executive Officer is responsible for the operational management of the organisation. With the support of an active Board and volunteer group, and small team of staff, key responsibilities include:

  • Member and Board liaison
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • Governance
  • Strategic and operational planning
  • Sports growth and development
  • Grant funding management
  • Marketing & sponsorship
  • Media & communication
  • Policy & procedure management
  • Program and event management

This is a high profile role within the South Australian and Australian water polo community and will appeal to an individual working within sports administration or wishing to transition from a corporate environment into a sports management career.

WPSA is located at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, 443 Morphett Rd, Oaklands Park
