The COVID situation and restrictions on entry into Queensland continue to change. The latest advice/direction from the Queensland Government is as follows:

Arriving into Queensland from a Hotspot

Restrictions after 1am AEST 13 December

If you have been in a declared hotspot (ie Greater Adelaide) in the past 14 days you may travel to Queensland provided you:

  1. are fully vaccinated
  2. have a negative COVID-19 test taken within the 72 hours prior to arrival into Queensland
  3. agree to get a COVID-19 PCR test on day 5 following your arrival into Queensland.

You may arrive by air or road. There is no quarantine required if you meet these criteria. If you do not meet these criteria, you will need to meet the relevant requirements for entry and will be required to undertake a period of quarantine in a government-nominated facility.

This means that all Participants/Parents who intend on traveling to Queensland for the Summer Slam (National State Championships) in January 2022 will require to:

  1. be fully vaccinated (including carry proof of vaccination for the journey)
  2. Have a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Queensland
  3. Agree to get a COVID-19 PRC test on Day 5 following arrival in Queensland

(Extract from https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/current-status/hotspots-covid-19#south_australia)

It is the responsibility of Participants/Parents to comply with the directions of the Queensland Government.

WPSA will continue to monitor the situation and advise accordingly.

And finally, many thanks to our Coaches, Managers and Parents who are very much the ‘behind the scenes’ but appreciated immensely.

Good luck for the ‘Summer Slam!’
